The M-option (or Modified) included the special equipment engine carried over from the XK120 with true dual exhaust system, wire wheels, along with heavier torsion bar suspension and Lucas fog lamps. A new C-type performance option for the XK140 included a high compression head with larger exhaust valves with inlet and exhaust porting mated to the factory 3442cc DOHC Straight 6 giving the engine 20 additional horsepower for a total of 210hp.
